Hey there just joined the site to maybe help out with troubleshooting and to share some thoughts and ideas. I currently drive a ZR2 Blazer 2001 I have done a lot to it from the day I bought it. I do have lot more plans for it. My Blazer currently with 170k on it and my daily driver. If you want to know more on the mods let me know. I will be more than glad to share my experience and info. I also had a old 71 CST K5Blazer. So hopefully I can help with issue or ideas.

Thanks. So far I have done a hypertech tune and a throttle body mod K&N air filter. Not much on the engine part but one day maybe a ls swap but right now the 4.3 runs great. As for the other mods I have a custom built front push bar and I can say its very stout. I have it mounted to the frame rails where the old tow hooks use to be. so the anchor point is the same. I also had the tow hooks swapped for the d rings as they bolt onto the bottom of the push bar. I had a guy build it out of Las Vegas. Pretty penny but one of a kind. I painted a cowl induction hood the blue red and silver stripes ( the blue is also the same color as my corvette ) so they look cool sitting together. I polished the paint and replaced the grill with all black and installed aftermarket headlights. topped with led lights. I also put light pod in the holes where the old tow hooks used to be. Added a 12 inch slim led light bar above the license plate then added a curved light bar with custom brackets attached to the roof rack. I just added a cargo rack and will upload photos soon. I haven't done much to the stock interior but add a double din cd/dvd player. Kept it stock for now. Later maybe on my wish list I'll do different front seats but again good for now. Now onto the suspension, I did crank up the torsion bars bit and replaced the upper control arms after one collapsed on me in town. As for the back as you know the ZR2's sag terrible and everyone has they're own way to solve this. I did a usual 2 inch rear shackle but here's the kicker.. I put load leveler coil over shocks ( Monroe # 58600 ) and this is where I get the most lift. plus a great ride and stability. Rides really smooth and quite comfy. Does not affect the offroad comfort but does seam the keep the tires stuck to the rocks. Didn't seem to affect articulation and I can say this would be highly recommended to anyone that wants to add some lift and added stability. plus you can load up or tow a trailer and no sag. Best mod so far. replaced the taillights with new after market and more leds. Future plans on my wish list is to add a hidden winch and i was thinking of sas or do a baja style ifs with custom control arms I don't want a rock crawler but something i can load up and hit the highway and keep it road worthy. so if I do a sas maybe like a jeep set up but not jacked up so high the CG is gonna get me in trouble. So far to date its good to go and engine oil is still clean after 3000 miles." If ain't broke don't fix it. lesson learned the hard way " So little at a time and keep my wish list real. Oh and the current tire are KM2 31x10.5r15's As soon as these wear out I'll put on some 32x11.5r15's. Wheels are ion 586 15x8. rancho shocks up front. Tried to keep it simple and user friendly.
