Default offset spare on 2dr blazer

was driving today and say a blue 2dr blazer with rear spare holder and it was offset far to the driver's side.
I though it looked good, was just wondering if anyone on here has done that mod.

If it was mounted from the stock PS location I'd imagine that would put a lot more stress on the bolts etc where it mounts.

The owner probably did that so he could fit a jerry can or something else on the rack, adding even more stress to the hinges/bolts/bracket. I thought about doing the same...for about a total of 5 minutes.

I've got something else in mind. Just need to find a shop that can put my thoughts into metal.
