Default Plug gap confusion

When I installed my new ac delco plugs, i was told the gap is .035. It also says on the sticker under the hood that the proper gap is .035, but the thing is that all the plugs came with .045 gap. I have also heard that .045 is the proper gap for this truck. I just want to clear it up once and for all..... is it .035 or .045? By the ways its on a '89 blazer 4.3 tbi... Thanks

Daniel

0.035 is the proper gap for your application. You may not see any big problems by having it at 0.045, but if your ignition system is not as strong as it was when new, it may not fire consistently.

I have a gap gauge tool that has an adjustment arm on it. That is the safest way to adjust them. But you can just tap them on something to adjust. But do so very lightly and check the gap often.

Oddly enough, my truck doesn't have the plug gap listed anywhere on it...
