Default power locks not working, hatch wont open 99 blazer

i have a 1999 blazer the power locks stopped working last winter, i cannot get the back gate to open now since the power locks are not working. is there a way to unlock the rear gate or a way i can manually open the gate. i am fine with the power locks not working, i just need the rear hatch to go up so i can load scrap etc.. thanks for all advice. ps i checked all fuses, i bought a $20 dollar relay i havent tried that yet but any suggestions would help. idc about this truck, to manually open the hatch would be fine. thanks again

Is it a 2 door or 4 door? Is it a drop tailgate and lift glass or a one piece lift gate?

if your not worried about the truck much, I would try and pry off the tail gate skin off, you will be able to access the hatch mechanism, as well as disconnect the lock mechanism on it. Should be able to get it open that way.

its a 4 door, the hold hatch and glass lifts as one piece, it does not have the tail gate like most jimmy trucks. i had back panel pried back but could not seem to get mechanism to unlock or open.

Have you checked to see if it's getting power? I'm wondering if you have a short in your wires...

Best and safest way would be a volt meter... not sure about other options... maybe jimmy rig a light. Not safe but if you know what your doing then might be able to pull it off...

I'm a mcgiver and a driveway mechanic, so not too sure about this. But it's something I would try. If your getting power to everything then you might have a bad latch release. I havent been in the tailgate for a while, so I cant remember what the mechanism looks like.
