Default Quick question - Lug nut covers

Currently I have chrome lug nuts on my truck. They are 21mm & the standard wheel spanner does not fit, so I need to use a socket on an extension. As a result, the nuts are looking tatty & some have the end caps broken off and as a result the centre caps are now also dented.

I've got a set of 19mm (3/4") dual thread lug nuts from the Chevy guys off a wrecked Blazer & I'm planning to have these powder coated black (of course!) together with the center caps.

Question is: I've also seen the black plastic covers on e-bay but they're for a Camaro - will they fit the Blazer? - looks like it to me.

As long as you use them on metric threads they are almost universal, Im pretty sure. But why are you going through the trouble of coating the lugs if your just gonna cover them with nice new caps?

Probably a stupid question I know but I saw the covers & was just wondering. I was looking at an either / or situation. Probably going for the coating anyway.
Thanks for the reply.

Hey kiwiblazer, what about getting them black chrome plated, might be more durable than powder coating. There's a place in New Lynn that do it but I am sure there would be a place on the shore.

I thought about it but not sure of the cost.

There is a chrome plater on the shore. I'll check tomorrow & give them a ring.

New Lynn is a bit out of the way, although, I do work in the city (Queen St) & regularly have to visit one of our other sites in Mt. Eden. So maybe I could just shoot over there.

Found a Electroplater in Glenfield. I'll stop there on the way to work in the morning.

I'm surprized how few of these guys do black chroming! They also do black nickel. Not sure of the difference but I'll find out tomoprrow.

I think the covers will look trashy. I'd just go with the coating.

My blazer came with the black plastic lug nut covers stock and the ones you posted from ebay will work if you still choose to go that way.
