Default Roof basket & lights on stock height/suspension Blazer, yes or no?

I'm considering a roof basket and lights and want to know what ya'll think. Would you put a roof basket and lights on a Blazer with stock suspension and tire size?

Don't know about the lights but I went with installing a used Yakima Rocket Box for all my recovery gear. I like that it is lockable.

Personally, I think it would look fine if it's simple and low-profile. A big "overland" type roof rack with a rooftop tent, awning, shower, etc. attached to it would look pretty silly on an otherwise stock Blazer. But that's just my opinion. It's your Blazer and your money. Do what you want with it.

If you plan on actually using the roof rack for its intended purpose, by all means throw one up there. If you are only doing it to make it look tough and have others think you need to use it for whatever reason, save your money.

That would be nice to have a lockable space for stuff, but I'm probably gonna stick with a basket.

Agreed. Big cargo racks with lots of lights and accessories look cool, but on the right vehicle. I see a lot of stock vehicles driving around with roof baskets but not very many if any with lights as well. I like the look of two Hella 6" round lights but am wondering if they would look silly compared to smaller led pod lights.

Personally I would stick with something more low profile that fits the overall rounded contour of the body. Light bars are nice and discrete. 2nd gen blazers look great lifted but they don’t have that boxy body that super beefy accessories would compliment. Are you planning on doing any kind of a lift or off-road mods?

I know what you mean. I've noticed that more squared off roof baskets look kind of out of place on this era blazers. The light bars look good mounted above the windshield or on the front of a roof basket but I've heard they're a common target for thieves. As for off road mods, probably nothing more than auxiliary lighting and a basket. I probably won't end up lifting it but I'd never say never to a 2.5" lift and 30" tires.

man the nice thing on the lifts with these is your can get 2.5 inches and full steering and breaks for around $2k if not less, I think it adds a lot to the look not to mention versatility but I’m with you I’ve been window shopping the add ons a lot lately. I did just recently remove my roof rack so I could clay bar buff and polish my roof and I will say that consistently the second to last bolts on both sides broke evenly. I grabbed a full set of new ones from the junkyard just because I want ot use good stuff next time but I’m still debating how to break those others noose without having to do too much damage and end up removing my headliner so you may want to stay there and deal with that part now.
