Default Roof rack rating

I got 630lb of lumber to load up and drive 430 km. I plan on doing it on my yakima roof racks for my flat bottom.

FYI, on my '96, the roof rack had a tag saying 500lb max load. You'll probably be ok, but just keep it in mind. I'd hate for you to have a failure on the highway.

I want to know what the wind load force was at highway speed (reverse load). LOL

630 lbs are above the load rating for the vehicle if I'm not mistaken. Haven't looked it up in quite a few years. I guess I'm saying I'd get a trailer or make a couple of trips to be safe.

I had the same thought. The anchors through the roof skin are not all that big. Too much lift could probably pull them through.
