Roofracks on...or off
Does anyone have some opinions
i was wondering if my car would look better without the roof racks, i'm lowering it 3 inches all around in about 3 days, black housing head/tail lights....i think it would look a lot cleaner
these are pictures of the car when i got it, now it does not have the running boards

RE: Roofracks on...or off
If your lowering it I would get rid of the roof racks. Don't forget to fill the holes somehow.

Yeah, i'm going to take them off, and just leave the original screws in there for now, then later on when it gets warmer, some bondo shall do

I would have voted to keep them on and have them chromed in the gold tone, that would have looked nice but I can see that your going for a shaved look when you mentioned you removed the running boards, good luck and please post a pic of it when done.

I really like the shaved look that the SS and SRT8 are going for lately, but the blazer is too long and short in my opinion to remove the roof rack. So, I swapped it with the roof rack I had painted to match off of a 2000/escalade/denali.
Here is what the roof rack looks like:
It first PERFECTLY ending just at the back of the sunroof and running right to the end of the roof. When you unscrew the old roof rack, there are screw housings that stick up about 1/4". If you mount this roof rack just outside of those it fits right up against them and aligns perfectly with the edge of the doors and windows. It is hard to describe, but this part should have been OEM on the 4 door s-10s because it just looks incredible and adds about 2" of flat height to my blazer. I will get pics soon!

I shaved off my roof rack, I'm working on shaving my third brake light aswell. It give the Blazer a smooth look.

What do you plan to plug your third brake light with? I need to get rid of mine because I am adding a deck lid/spoiler off an Envoy that has the third brake light built in.

The only thing that you really needis bondo. It's only 4 little holes unlike the the 1 big one on the S10s.
