Hey guys. I know we all miss compnine because we could find options that came on ours trucks. I found a site that does an RPO code look up. It isn't as convenient as compnine, but it gets the job done. Look in your glove box for any 3 digit code, type it in in the box and boom! It has what the code means. Enjoy!

It will, but here they are for convenience (since I had them sitting beside me on the desk).

GT4 = 3.73
GT5 = 4.10
GU4 = 3.08
GU6 = 3.42

3.73 and 3.42 are the most common in the S-series blazers.

You probably already know, but G80 is the RPO for the locking diff.

I just got off the phone with the parts department of my local stealership, and the guy is telling me that based on my VIN, I have the GU4 ratio. When I look in my glove box I see a GU6 code. I know the only real way is to count teeth, but what should I believe in the meantime? I need to replace my pinion gear so I am debating on swapping an entire rearend from a salvage yard or just doing the pinion and ring gear by itself. If I do the entire rearend, would I need the exact matching ratio or could I go with something bigger?

If 2wd and you can deal with the speedometer being off, you can go with either one.

If 4wd, you should match what is in there if you want to use 4wd again.

Lately I checked compnine and it said "doing some maintenance, please try back later." Not getting my hopes up but maybe it will be back.
