Default S series grill question

I tried to search and couldn't find much. I was curious if Chevrolet ever made a black grill with the red Bowtie for the S series trucks, and Blazers like they did with the full size trucks like the sport, and the 454SS ? I would love to have one of these for a 99 Blazer if it's available. Thanks Jim

Yes they did. My 89 S10 baja has a grill just like what you described. Still I'm not to sure if the grilles were specific to certain models.

The bowties can be changed/painted easily, and you can get a new grille and paint it

I am aware of this. It's just that the sport grilles (if available?) are different. They aren't just a blacked out grille with a red bowtie. Thanks Jim

I know the Baja and other 1st gen grilles wont work. I wasn't sure if there was something out there for the 2nd gen. I really have never given any S-10 much thought until I just picked one up. Thanks Jim

The grille and bowite are 2 separate peices. You can get the bowties in red/black - blue/black - silver - black - silver/black

I got a black grill for my 1st gen from Pro Body Parts... $15. They had about 6 different styles to choose from - chrome - black - GMC style - Chevy style - 1piece - 3piece. I got the 1 piece, but should have gotten the 3 piece so I could trim it to fit a little nicer, the stock one was a nicer fit than the aftermarket... Its on the list to be replaced again for that reason.

I got the black/red 454SS emblem from the dealer... $60 special order. Members told me these emblems can be had on Ebay for less. The one for the full size SS is a little bigger than the ones for S-series trucks but fits the same holes to mount it. They look the same size cause my black one has about 50 coats of undercoating on it to make it larger.
