Default Semi-minor accident

Today on my way to class i was going with the flow of traffic on the highway. I came to a slight curve to the right. I was in the far right lane when i came across some black ice. The rear end started sliding to the right and i tried saving it but over corrected and went around the other way. I ended up sliding backwards into the guard rail. I came to a stop in the middle of the lane facing the wrong way. Luckily the highway wasnt too busy and i was able to quick turn around. A slowly drove another 1/4 mile till the next exit. I went to the nearest parking lot to look at the damage. The drivers side rear plastic bumper cap was destroyed. The bracket holding the black emissions canister was bent up. I was lucky and didnt have any damage to the rear quarter except for the part that extends behind the rear tire. It is bent and torn in one spot. After class i was able to look at it a little closer and found the rear crossmember is bent, so the rear tailgate and glass dont close very well. It also looks like the end of the frame is bent a little.

Since i work at a chevy dealer i can hopefully get it done for fairly cheap. I dont wana have to claim it on my insurance.

ps. the reason there is a 4x4 in place of the rear bumber is because i just installed a body lift last weekend and im wainting on new bolts for the rear brackets. since alot of mine broke due to the rust

Coulda been worse!

Thats charcoal canister looks pretty mangled though...might need to be replaced. Once you get those annoying mass/minor emissions leaks, they can get pretty annoying. And at least you didnt mangle a body lift bumper bracket. Apparently theyre pretty hard to re-order.

yeah the body lift actually saved me money. if the body was lower it would have messed up the rear quarter even more plus the bumper would have been on so that would of had damage too.
