Unhappy shotgun fix

Hello, I have a 1999 Blazer 4.3 2 wheel 2 door. I had problems with it jerking while shifting to 3rd gear. If I got into it I wouldn't have any problems.
Now it died. replaced the distributor cranks but no fire. I am thinking electrical, I saw in this forum that maybe instrument cluster.... Also coil pack?
Running out of money and ready to dump it. low miles and strong motor. The weird thing is my temperature guage needle is stuck downwards.
This vehicle had been sitting and had mice. Any ideas I would appreciate it.

Is there spark output from the coil before the distr?

I have power showing from the coil to the distributor when ignition is on. going to do a bench test on the coil pack.

If you pull the high voltage lead off of the distr but leave the other end connected to the coil and create a 1" air gap to ground do you get a strong regular spark when you crank the engine?

I will check, I have a cheap tester that wouldnt produce any spark before I had the new distributor put in.

I checked and there is no power to the distributor. would that be the coil pack?

So there was no high voltage spark from the coil lead during cranking?

nothing, I used both a cheaper spark tester and my 12 volt tester and had not power or spark.

Where did you test and not find power?

I tested both the spark plug lead from the distributor #1 and the coil wire going to the distributor.
