Default slow flash resistors

Im trying to put the resistors on my new truck, but they arent working. I wired them as if i was adding another bulb. Do these things go inline with a bulb, or in parallel like i put them?

In one wire but sounds like you shorted them out.

Why not just put in the electric flasher so you won't have to splice a 25 cent resistor in every wire?

Ok i got frustrated with going out to test and it raining once i step outside.... So i put my stock headlights on with their HID in them, and ill keep the Spyders inside and test em off my battery charger till i get it all sorted out.

Not concerned about shorting them, i got a f ew pairs from ebay for about 50cents each in case this happened...
