So I found a tool to take care of that #3 spark plug issue.
Picked up this socket tool at the flea market this morning. Made by
westward iubf9. Tried it on #3 plug and it went right to it with NO issues. Pretty handy tool.plenty of room for the knuckle etc. Got it new for $3 bucks. Looking around online I finally found it.

I have been working on these things for the past 10 yrs. About 5 yrs ago an old GM flat rate mechanic showed me an easy trick for this.
Support the truck under the frame with either jack stands or frame lift about 2' off the ground
Put block of wood on floor jack and put under oil pan, slowly jack up pan & you will see the engine rasie slightly.
This will rasie engine high enough to clear steering shaft if you go in through left wheel well.
