Stock Blazer wheel base
I have a 00 Blazer LS. I am running stock wheels (15" X 8"?) w/31, 10.5
I want to keep 31 10.5,s but I want to go wider and get that bulldog stance. I recently bought the OEM fender flares and want to know how wide I need to go to get a good ride and the stance (about 1-1.5" outside of the flares.) a 2" lift is the next mod... I was told the rear wheel-base is shorter than the front on 4x4 is this true??

Well that's interesting....those wheels you have are 15x7. Same that came on my '00 4-door. The only weird thing is that your stock size should be 235/75/15 (31x10.50s would be 265/75/15) since you're non-ZR2. If you're clearing your 31x10.50s fine, then you probably already have a bit of lift on there. Or maybe they put those style wheels on ZR2s in 2000....but I would find it odd that you have a non-badged Z, with no fender flares.
And yea the rear axle is narrower than the combined width of the front IFS. The only way to push the tread out wider is with spacers (1-1.5') or new rims with 4.5' of backspacing, as opposed to the stock 6'.
I'm real puzzled by your setup...do you have more pics of your truck?

Thanks for the reply Wolf. You seem to be amore realiable source onthis site, Well from what I have read so far.Sure I can get you more pictures. When I bought thetruck it had the original tires which were 235's im sure (smallys).I did not raiseor do anything suspension or body wise. Just had 31 10.5's put on it I have no clearance/rubbing issues I knew they would fit(wheel wells) becausemy sister had a Zr2, bodysthe same..?

That's really interesting.. The frame is very different between ZR2 and non-ZR2. So much so the majority of parts have to be specified ZR2 or not. The ZR2 wheel wells are actually wider to help with the travel of the 31s. Most people that have tried 31x10.50s on a stock setup have rubbing on frame or on the back of the wheel well. Also in that last pic, you've got a pretty good amount of forward rake...which should further complicate clearing 31s...
Were the 31s you put on brand new?
Any one else have an idea whats going on here?

Anyway to get better (larger) pictures? From the last picture you posted, it almost looks like someone had previously done some fender trimming at the back.
What have you done, offroading wise, to say that you have no rub issues? Looks to me like a bit of steering to the right or left and a rise on one side would cause the wheel to hit the upper lip of the fender.

I havent done any hard-core muddin just off roadin in fields deer hunting and up some mediocre trails. I did buy the tires new the only rub I ever had was recently someone hit my front driver side(since been repaired) but then the bumperwas actually bent into it.From what I know there has been no trimming of any fenders I will try to get better pictures tonight when I get home...These were taken on my cell. Whatdo you mean by fowardrake?

RE: Stock Blazer wheel base
Forward rake is the usual stance of trucks and SUVs. It means the back end is higher than the front end.
