towing problem

ok so I put on a 2'' body lift with the lift bumper brackets and it says i cannot tow anything with the lift bumper brackets. it came with. Is this because the bumper brackets are not strong enough or the bolts it came with not strong enough? The bumper bracket also uses 2 less bolts to mount into the frame I was thinking if I were to reinforce the bracket with 2 more bolts would towing be able to happen or is it that the brackets are not strong enough?

Best bet IMO install a "Draw Tite" or equivalent type bolt on hitch with a receiever..then you can adjust tongue height as required by using a different drop on the receiver.

Brackets are not strong enough. Go with a Drawtite as already suggested.

ummmm..........who does any amount of towing on a bumper?

personally, i wouldn't trust the rating for a bumper-regardless what the manufacture ays-have you ever seen a bumper flex 'n twist when it's towing something? it's not pretty or reassurinng.

bumper towing

I've used the bumper for towing up until a couple months ago when i got the lift. I've pulled my 2500lb boat around for a year once a week pretty much and daily mowing business trailer and never had any problems of the bumper letting up or anything. But I will be buying a reese hitch or so sometime soon
