Transmission issues
OK so here’s the deal I just picked up a 1998 blazer from my uncle that has a monster transmission 4L 60 E and a 1650 RPM stall torque converter. Has very low mileage on everything due to a rebuild a year ago. I drove the vehicle from OKC to Wichita never missed a beat two weeks following the return of the vehicle I started having issues with it slipping from second gear to third gear I would have to let off the throttle for it to shift into third and then I can get back into it. the problem got worse to wear even at low RPMs second gear would start to slip right around 3000 RPMs. It got so bad two weeks ago that I had no first second or third when trying to manually shift and while in drive I had to be very light on the throttle just to get it to go anywhere otherwise it would slip now my question is do I have something internally wrong with it Could it be a torque converter issue or could it be shift solenoid’s I’m at a loss in about a tear it apart I’m just looking for some insight thank you for your time

I've heard some, really horrible things about Monster transmissions, so honestly that does not surprise me as much..
im rebuilding mine right now. My pump actually shattered.
So with that being said I’m under the assumption that in order to rebuild the monster transmission I’ll have to rebuild with their monster kit. Would you or anyone else agree? Cause I know there are master rebuild kits for 200-300$ but the monster rebuild kit is 700$
example: if the frictions are the only thing bad I don’t see why you’d need a whole rebuild kit. Just clutches and gaskets etc.
strip it and label everything in bags as you go. Assess all your parts and figure out what you need. Then you can determine what you need and what kit to get.
if you can get the valve body tested for vacuum too I would get it done.
remember this. If it gets overwhelming just do it in sections. If your pump is damaged just replace it don’t rebuild it.
then you have your valve body, and drum. It becomes easier when you do it that way.
Roger that man. Now I know how to tell if the pump is bad while the tranny is in the vehicle. ( checking the fluid level while vehicle off then checking while running) but can you check while out of vehicle or I’ll know once it’s back in The vehicle hahah lol
