bet your speedometer didn't work either - if its what i think it is - 2wd speed sensor on the tail shaft of transmission - 4wd its back on the top of the transfer case - vehicle information would be nice - guessing game from he** without

Sorry about that, its a 2000 jimmy auto 4wd, i found the 2 vss in the back of the diff. but that one that comes off next to the main plug into the trans, does that go over the top of the trans to a plug in by the shift cable?

There will be two sensors on the output housing of the transfer case. You are looking for the sensor with the light green w/ black tracer & purple w/ white tracer wires going into it.

The sensor should be a screw in type sensor with an o-ring seal, not the bolt on type. The part description should state that it is for the RPO code NP8 (NV236) or NP4 (NV136) transfer case, but a lot of parts stores have gone dumb with their descriptions.

If you need to, take the sensor with you so the counter person can match it up appropriately.

i took this quote from another post. that's the sensor im talking about i just cant seem to find where it plugs in at
