transporting a canoe
Looking for a Canoe
Just wondering if the factory roof rack will support a canoe or if I need to buy a foam block kit and rest it on the roof instead
I figure somebody here has tried or actually does it

Mine has a place on it that says something along the lines of, "max weight 200 lbs." So I would think a 60-80 lb canoe would be ok! That's how I'm planning to transport mine, provided I can ever find one on craigslist for the price I want.
Everyone that is interested so far seems to be at least a hour away
I have had really bad luck driving to deals in the past, what they have usually isn't in as good of condition as they tell or show
Transported a 21 foot Minnesota lake canoe with a gunwale width of almost 4 feet. The front tow hooks came in really handy as did the trailer hitch-never got over much about 45 or so and only went about 80 miles...no problem!
