U-Pull Wrecking Yard VIN Hack

U-Pull Wrecking Yard VIN Hack
So in preparation to going to the wrecking yard yesterday to look for a rear carpet I wanted some way to confirm that there would be Blazers in the yards with the correct interior color and body style.
I was able to call up the closed-yard (where they pull the parts for you) and they said that they had several. But I also wanted to check the neighboring u-pull yard. Fortunately, the u-pull yard would list the VINs of all of their vehicles.
To see if the u-pull yard had the Blazers with the right color interiors, I thought I'd have to get the whole VIN decoded for all of the RPO codes. As far as I could tell, this would cost some money.
But then I realized I could input the VIN of the Blazers I found into the parts search tool at https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/ and then navigate to the parts page for the rear carpet. Then when I would update the VIN with another one, I found that the parts numbers would change on the page with the carpets to reflect the interior colors of the vehicle with the VIN I had just inputted.
This way I was able to search through over about 16 Blazer VINS to find the 8 or so that had the matching interiors. This allowed me to save time and go to only the ones with the correct interiors using the row location given for it in the list.
BTW, I was able to find a carpet!
