I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy that has a on/off switch under the dash. It looks like it was factory installed but I can't figure out what it does. I've tried everything with it in the on position and in the off position and don't see any changes. Anyone have any ideas what it is for. My 2001 GMC Jimmy doesn't have it.

If you can post a pic, that would help.

But all honesty, I don't think its factory...

Thats not factory to what I can see...

I would check behind the headlight assemblies for loose wires, maybe a previous owner had after market foglights.

It's definitely aftermarket. I'm guessing it's a disable switch for a remote-starter, or an on/off for aftermarket lights.

usually that style of a switch comes with aftermarket fog or driving lights and may run to a solenoid
