Looking at getting a S-10 or Blazer. Really would like a truck though.

How many miles is too many for you guys? I personally drive about 12-15k miles a year.
When we had the 96 Blazer it had 185k at trade-in.

I am looking for 00+, is there anything mechanically different then my 96?


I am looking at a 00 S-10 ext. cab 4x4 w/180k The guy said it's got an extra set of winter tires and all new speakers and radio worth $1000 oh and an old alum. camper top. He's asking $4000 obo. He told me to make him an offer. I told him I'll check with my bank and get back with him.

Did KBB... In good condition w/no options, from a private party its saying $5250. Fair is $4580

I live near mountains, where 4x4 is preferred. If it wasn't for the mountains I'd just get a 2wd. But we never know how bad its going to be. Last year we had very little snow, the year before that we had a lot. I have two main mountains to climb, one of them is a mile long and 8% grade

 

180k for 4k? nah. id offer him 3000.00 at most. I doubt he'd take it. keep looking.

I think private sellers in general ask WAY too much(yes,dealers too-but they are licensed rip-offs) Example:for the past month a very nice Jimmy has been sitting for sale;the same year as mine(97) So finally yesterday I stopped to look at it. 240K!
Rebuilt trans @200K and some very nice new tires! He is wanting $2500 for it! SO not worth it! That is like a $600 unit regardless how much he has tied up in trans&tires!!!
Shop around-there are plenty of these out there! Take your time...

 

Been looking around for a while, havent found any 4x4 ext cab for less then $2500. The ones that are that much are rusted out and a ton of miles

We have inspection here in which the brakes and all lights and signals must work, no illegal tint and no rust holes. And surface rust is carefully looked at. If it doesn't pass you have to get it fixed within 7days. Or pay a fine
