Default Well that was an expensive touch, almost made it.

So on the trip from winnipeg to whistler we almost made it with no problems. 2500km ish trip and about 200km out...coming up one of the last climbs blew the transmission cooler....and even awsome yet it blew inside the radiator...so now i have atf in the coolant and coolant in the transmission.......lost all the atf and the transmission started slipping......luckily was at the top of the climb so was able to nearly coast down until could find a shop to get it into to check the codes that were thrown when the engine light came one...basically engine ran fine, just the transmission overheated towing a trailer over the mountains........so basically torque converter stopped locking, then coming down the climb I dumped coolant through the over flow, stopped to let it cool and of course lost coolant and was empty...so........well we just happened to be stopped by a farmers field.that had sprinklers on..so it was a run out with water bottles dodging soggy cow pies to fill up water bottles to fill it back up and limp back down the pass into town, trying to keep it slow, torque converter wouldnt lock and eventually wouldnt shift into 4th gear....stop every once in a while to let it cool and keep going...made it to a shop and the codes were an over heated transmission and transmission slipping......luckily the shop i took it to they are really good, the owner phoned around to find us a hotel and paid for a cab to get us to the hotel to.......but its going to be an expensive fix, around the order of 1600 bucks..if only the cooler didnt have to blow inside the radiator..BAH.....have to get new radiator and getting a transmission cooler thrown in in line...so cooler will pass through the transmission first with their sad attemped at a transmission cooler, and then pass through the transmission cooler before going back to the transmission........so new radiator, new temp sensor..tranny cooler, thermostat, gasket..etc...and transmission service flush and new fluid..and then flush the coolant system twice with water and then again with coolant.....bah..all that adds up to a nice 1600 touch..OUCH.....but, was a nice trip..pics to come.........hopefully transmission wasnt damaged.
