Well this will be a long post
went for a drive today to the pebble creek hot springs. (Here is a map from pemberton meadows road how to get there pebble creek hot springs 2 | Author Streblo | free Mobile GPS Tracking Service
, to get there you drive down pemberton meadows road and turn off onto a forest service road near the end of pemberton meadows road, there is a forest service road, there are 3 signs one is for hurley one for golden bridge etc (you can follow signs to meager hot springs). You then drive down the road staying to the left, there is a turn off to hurley FSR, stay left(it says the road is closed at 9km although it is open, only the turn off to meager is closed) you drive down this road for a while, you will see an area where the debris was cleared from the meager landslide, you will see the turnoff to meager fsr and meager hot springs, this road is closed any may never be opened again after the damage to it from the landslide (largest landslide in canada, came down the mountain at 240kmh), you drive past this turn off until just past the 42km marker, (After meager the road leaves the river and starts to ascend) you will come to a creek crossing, cross the creek and you will see a pullout directly on the left, park here and you will see the trailhead in the bushes, walk the trail down until you get to the river (its about 140m elevation drop) when you get to the river turn right and go up until you see the pools.
Debris cleared from the road

Meager Landslide, you can see the level from which the landslide covered and took out the vegetation

washout from the landslide

this is where the bridge to cross the river and go to the meager creek hot springs used to be

the creek crossing

oh ya the road is very dusty

you then have to hike down a steep trail, there are ropes at the steep slipper sections

and down the edge to the hot spring pools

and in the hot spring pools there is a bunch of piping, you will most likely have to adjust the valves to make more or less hot water come into the pools, most of the pools that were there had some growth in them, the upper pool was far to hot to sit in, the lower pool someone left the valve all the way open , so we shut it off and the freezing glacier river water would splash in and cooled it off enough to sit in in about 15 minutes or so. awsome to sit in a hot pool next to the freezing cold water, holding your arm in the rushing river, except for the cold splash here and there. As this pool is low it is filled with sand on the bottom and did not have any of the slimy growth you would find in the other 3 or 4 pools and was the only one bearable enough to sit in without being boiled.(dont dig around in sand to deep or else you will find a hot spring coming up and burning your butt)

Then yesterday went for a little drive up to jane lake, did not make it all the way as after the turnoff where the road was used to access a forest fire the road is heavily overgrown, i drove up 100feet then had to fold the mirrors in to back out of it. it says 4x4 road but you could easily do it in 2 wheel until you hit the old growth. Needless to say i was feeling lazy and didnt feel like hiking the rest of the way Jane lake | Author Streblo | free Mobile GPS Tracking Service

the road before it hits a steep climb

Climb up to jane lake, the turnoff to the left is to jane lake (Where i attempt to go in, the overgrowth, to the right is just a short road around the corner to a burn area

I was just lucky enough to be working out west for the summer, might be last time I get to be there with the blazer, ran $600-700 in gas to get out there so if I ever do it again i will probably be taking the fuel saver

I started/restarted working at my old job, it'll be nice to have an income again.

I took a bag of 144 = 12 dozen empties to the vender for a refund of $14.40. Gotta clear out the shed for winter
... I'll be doing this for a bit, BUT it's a great slush fund.
