This is a picture of a Camaro I had. Good car, ran great fun to drive.
But this alone was enough to get rid of the car and buy another.
What problems does yours have and what can you do?
Need a trans? Not so bad if you can pull/install it, or even rebuilt it. No labor that's alot of money saved.
Looks like this needed a frame

I did not drive it on the road sitting on the red pail, but I did in the driveway and on my mom and dad's property. Kinda interesting. Push the clutch trying to pull yourself forward with the steering wheeling and trying to turn at the same time.

For the Flinstones yeah it was, problem was the intake gaskets were bad, so it took 3 feet to drive. To stop took the clucth down brake to stop, and gas to keep it running.
Otherwise ran great.

The frame bad, that's why I actually got rid of it. Was going to fix the floor, but will the doors bad, and the hood, and dents behind the drivers door the floor, frame. I can buy another cheaper then I can fix that car. Now gone. (have a few parts left)

To the OP this is what I was really getting at. A blazer to me 90 model is not worth much more then $2000. (great conditon yeah but most no)
This car was the same idea. Figure a populare sports car, V8 etc... Even to compare to a like new Camaro it was not anywhere near worth fixing. (doing it yourself not paying for labor)
All that said I bought it cheap with the intention of fixing it. At that time it wasn't to bad. Just did not have the money had a few years I was out of the country it sat to much, and just got to bad.
Some of this depends on where you get parts.
New body parts usually not cheap. (that car front bumper cover was junkyard only, now a few companys make them) Hard to find a good one, thus more money.

Fenders lots of them in junkyards cheap. If you can find a good one.

So it depends, what is it worth to you, and how hard are the part so find.

I also and still have a 49 F-1. (that is not a typo)
This truck was a farm truck. I now have just gotten it taken apart. (didn't have a place to put if until the past year, not it's a money thing)
Bought it for $200 dollars. Complete restored or built they go for (over the past few year I have seen) between $10,000 to $25,000.
The bed is almost to the point it needs replaced, the frame close behind, the front fenders have a huge hole in them. Engine is siezed already replaced. (have a tag to prove it was rebuilt by an authorized Ford rebuilder)

Parts I can almost build this from completely new parts and have a "factory truck"
Cost alot. The stock steering wheel. Cheap old plastic wheel, not including the horn etc... Just the steering wheel cost $200 right now.
This truck can be worth it, but if your blazer needs alot. Think about the cost. If Grandma/grandpa/mom/dad bought it new got it, cost to value dosnt' matter so much.
Something you bought to drive. Really have to think about.
