What Gas Do You Guys Pump 87 89 or 91
Just curious does everyone here pump 87 gas in there blazers........I got a 2000 and someone told me to just stick to 87 which is what the car needs....just want to keep my car running strong...since I am planning keepin it till I hit 100k Mart...
Also have a 2000 and 87 is just fine for it. Got my truck at 39K and am at 77K now, have put just about the same miles on it that it had when I started. Only 23K to go until the 100K mark and the only thing I've done differently was to start using high mileage oil (75K+) at my last oil change. Check out this thread for a more detailed explanation about octane from Swartlkk.
I use 87 most of the time. I would use 89 if it was available up here (Phillips 66 used to) and it usually doesn't cost that much more from 87. I do like to use premium/91 every once in a while as my Blazer does seem to be just a bit more smoother in acceleration with it and the extra cost doesn't really bother me, but 87 is fine.
i always just used 87 in the blazer and never had any knocking or anything. i also was able to achieve what the sticker said 20MPG and now with my silverado i ran 87 until i got my bully dog tuner now i run 91/92/93 whatever is avaiable aslong as its premium
I use 87 octane which is cheapest, and I ususally get the stuff that has no ethonal added to it if I can find it. If I go for longer trips I tend to put 89 in since I get a little better gas mileage that way, or atleast it seems that way. Also if 89 is the same price as 87 I'll put the 89 in then. I have 135.5k miles and running strong, I occasionally put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in every 3,000 miles or so.
I run 87.... That's what my boss' fuel card is rated for, so that's what I run, lol.
Though, now that I've got the hypertech tune, it does seem to do quite a bit better if I chuck 89 in there now and then, even though I used the 87 octane tuning

I just use the 87. Occasionally I will throw an octane booster in there or some fuel system cleaner, but I stick to 87. Higher is just too expensive here in ct.
