They towed her away today

Hopefully I'll know what's up Monday or Tuesday when they let me know if she's totalled or not...

Thanks, I'm going to wait on the front gears. I don't offroad hard enough to need 4x4 very often and normally only use it in the winter. I'm gonna get the front done probley in late Sept-early Oct. I've got a guy that's been into off roading for years and is a professional heavy equipment mechanic and a darn good shadetree mechanic. He's already replaced my radiator and idler arm, and installed my add a leaf when I failed at it and helped install my body lift. He charges $150 a axle. He'll even do the front ring and pinion for $150! The local 4x4 shop wanted $400 for the rear and $550 for the front labor. Thank God for Jason. lol

Sorry, I'm excited back to the daily blazer thread...

Vanilla, whats goin on with yours? Hope it's nothing bad and if it was wrecked hopefully it will be fixable. But if not, you know what that means...

You have to come back better than before.

The other driver was found to be at fault and ticketed for it, and her insurance company is picking up the tab.. We'll just see how generous they are. I don't want to lose my Blazer after putting so much money into it to get it the way I wanted her, but I don't want to drive something that's half *** fixed either. If they total it, I hope they're generous. I'm pretty sore. I'd probably overlook the chiropracter if I get an exceptional amount of money for my truck.

what year was it? I know the newer models are still holding value pretty good. My 92 blue books for under $2500 in "perfect mint" condidtion or something like that. When my backglass got knocked out by a parking lot gate. To fix the glass, hinges and paint the roof and top of the tailgate was a pinch over $100. They said it would be totaled if this would have been an on road accident. For a truck with under 115,000 miles (at the time).

Hope it works out for the better!

today I cardboarded my busted back window and cleaned up glass. Had to tape it up really well cause Im moving to Edmonton on Tuesday and dont have time to hit the wreckers before I leave. Window struts were toast again so ive been jammin a screwdriver handle between the glass and roof to hold it open. One of the kids grabbed the glass and pulled it down to shut it and got showered in mini ice cubes. Im glad the window tint made most of it stay in the back of the truck and not the big sheet to fall on her! She wasnt cut at all but sure was scared by the *POP* It sounded like a gunshot to me in the house! After the fact she thought it was neat that it turned into cubes instead of shards so I explained why that is.

today I abused the truck for the first time since I got it, was taking garbage out the the burn pile and I gunned it in 4wd - 1st and did a cool little drift on the trail, its dirt and dust road and its rough and it did make ALOT of dust. I also used a little too much gas to start the fire. Used 4L of 10year old gas (its a farm burn pit, its huge and a tennant left alot of wood crap there that we burned too) to start it, i was thinking the gas wouldnt burn as well cause its all varnishy, man was I wrong and I probably should have made a longer trail for lighting it. WOOOOF!

today i filled my trailer hitch cover with grease so my darn trailer stops squeaking when I have it heavy. The ball and tounge make the noise.

LMAO!! "WOOOOF!" I can just see that picture in my head! PERFECT onomatopoeia!!

Today I took off the Spare tire carrier, sanded ALL of the rust, and then gave it 3-4 coats of RustOleum Primer. Tomorrow I will sand it down a little more and start applying the top coat..which is still to be determined lol.

Any suggestions? I have ruled out the Hammered textured paint (dont want that texture) and Spray can Bed liner ($8.00 a can HOLY MOLY!!) but was maybe thinking about undercoating, half the price of the bed liner lol. Will probably just end up doing regular ol black paint.

If you have any better ideas let me know..prolly should PM me so i dont jack this thread on accident.

One can of bed liner was enough for me to not only do my frame, but also my spare tire carrier. If I were you, that's what I'd use. Yes, it's expensive, but it goes a long way. It doesn't take much to coat the carrier.

2000 ZR2. It did have damage to the rear quarter on the opposite side already, so they're probably going to take that into consideration as far as the value of the truck goes. I think the body is pretty tweaked considering both doors rub the fenders and make an awful noise when opening. It was a nice truck though. I loved it. I bought it at the end of February

4 New ball joints and added a "finishing touch" to the front end, painted my headlight retaining rings and a thin coat of night shades to the lights themselves, blends in with rest of the truck MUCH better now.
Ya know someday I'm gonna have to get unlazy and ask someone to make me a new sig my baby looks NOTHING like this one anymore and hasn't for the past year lol.

Called the shop mines at. It was supposed to be towed there Thursday to be done Friday. I didn't call till 4 and they said they hadn't even got it yet. So now I'm stuck going to North Bay in a crappy old 96 TL which probably wont make it.
