Changed the front differential fluid for the first time in its life, the fluid looked and smelled like death, i literally lost my appetite for i while. Also found out my blazer is one of the few with a drain on the front diff!!

both my parts blazer ('95) & the "good" one ('97) dont have drains. the '95 has the flanged cv shafts, and the '97 has the reg c.v shaft style. wish they would interchange, then i could have 3.73's instead of 3.42's and the '95 also has a g80 in the rear (though im sure its in need of a rebuild, truck had 198K when it was parked)

I think I broke my trans...again.

Been having an issue where below 30 degrees the trans is very hard to shift from park, or to any gear for that matter. I'd have to force it a bit to start driving. Once the truck warmed up enough the trans would shift gears normally and all would be well.

Well, today I went out for some grub earlier, and the trans shifted properly by the time I got back. Just now, (less than 2 hours later) I went to pull the truck into the garage, and it was tough to get the gear selector back to park. Got it, shut the truck off and took a look at what I needed. Then went to back out of the garage and noticed the part that tells you what gear you're in said I was still in drive.

I can move the selector all over with lots of effort... but it won't read anything but 1, or 2 now.

Would love to Gio... except I need the truck for work and can no longer borrow my sisters car while it takes this dude 2 weeks to fix. Besides, I found a thread that said a worn shifter cable could cause it, which makes sense.

However, I need to get the truck out of the garage first, so I'd like to figure out how to get it started. I'm hoping being in the (marginally) warmer garage helps things loosen up a bit...

Replaced the pinion seal on the D44 front axle in my K5. Nothing to it really. No crush sleeve in the D44 so you just torque it to spec and away you go.

Sounds easy enough. I've always seen the crush sleeves and wondered why it had to be so complicated, haha.
