Cold front has not come through there yet, it will over night into tomorrow morning then the temp will drop like a rock.
It just came through here in MPLS a few hours ago.
Now we are sitting at -16 with a windchill of -40

Got up this morning to torrential downpours, 30 mph wind, and 55°!! I'd go for a swim if the lake wasn't a foot thick of ice ... But, I know that cold front is headed east. Only a matter of time ...

Chris, I've always has better luck with roller bearings than hub bearings. I did an overhaul on our '86 Grand Marquis front wheel bearings in '05. Just changed them this spring ... not because they were bad, but because I was overhauling everything else in the front end, so figured I might as well. I still have those bearings as spares - about 105k miles on them ... and at one point they went 60k miles without fresh grease! Thought they'd be toast then. Can't kill them things, unless you've got a bad seal or dust cap - then they go to hell pretty fast - especially if it's raining. Had good luck with the bearings in my '85 Monte Carlo back in the day, my '72 El Camino, my '78 Mercury Capri, & my '88 S15 pickup - the S15 was my first vehicle, and never once greased those bearings in about 60k miles of HARD driving (was 16 - I was an animal back then ... and have the 3 page driving record to prove it ).

Hub bearings on the other hand .... Always hit or miss with those things .. 20k out of one set ... 100k out of the other .... and they're big money.

i wrecked the blaze last night. took a corner a little too hard and the gov bomb didnt like it. it spit me into a fast food sign. took out the headlight and grille. no other damages as far as i know. no tickets, just dealing with my insurance fixing the sign. sigh. anyone got a free grille? lol

Today its in the 60s an overcast in N. Florida. Last Thursday on my way home from work my throttle cable snapped right at the peddle. I was able to rig it to get home but was unable to find a replacement cable at the store, they were even out of the generic ones. Searching online I found some but it would be a few days to get one so the next morning off to the junk yard. it was 34 degrees! I grabbed the cable and a few other things before my fingers went numb. Yesterday was a nice enough day to start my LIM project. Tired of putting in water all the time. I read this could be about an 5 to 8 hour job but even tho it took me about an hour to tear it down, it took about 3 hours to clean everything. Then my toque wrench, which said it would go down to 11 ft/lb would not "click". Stop everything, wait an hour for my wife to get home, goto 2 different stores to find the right one. Lets not even get into fighting with the distributor, trying to align it back up with the oil pump. I was able to get everything back together before dark (about 5:30pm). I didn't change the coolant (no, I did NOT put dex-cool back in) or the oil till today. Also threw in a new cap and rotor. Had a smoke then fired it up. Flawless. Victory ride to the store, then the heat goes out... Came home and re-flushed the heater core, full of crap. All in all about 11 hours and no leaks, no smoke and no check engine light. The cost was about $150 when it was all said and done (all parts from Advance auto parts online, p/u at store with all the online discounts I could find, saved almost $100). Whew Im tired.

I will trade places with everyone. Water pipe to the kitchen sink froze.. luckily did not burst.
Woke up to it being -20 outside, windchill was -51. It has now warmed up to -15, windchill is still -45.

ontop of all that, I am sicker than a dog.. 102 fever. Perfect timing. At least I do not have to go anywhere.

Now for the truck, braved the cold and went out and started it up and let it run for 5 minutes, Fired right up.
