Default Wilco Hitchgate spare tire carrier

Hi all,

Has anyone installed one of these on their second gen Blazers? How did it work out for you?

Interesting design. I checked the price though!!!! Damn! But I saved the pic so I can build one if I ever get the time.

I need something about the same for my MORF, anything besides humping a 31 x 10.5 x 15 spare 4' up into the rear hatch and trying not to damage the rear spoiler - I would need just a slide in mount not a swing unit or the option of hang a wagon/Hilift jack - One of these days I may get around to it as I'm not giving close to a grand for something I can build .....

I'm with everybody else. It's a cool design, and I would totally build one, but there's no way I'm paying that kind of money for it.

Yeah, that price is high but it better be if it is to not wobble around while supported by one a 2" receiver.

The nice thing is that you install it and your done. That is as opposed to doing the 2 door swing-away spare tire mount retrofit to our 4-doors that I've accumulated the parts to be able to do.

BTW, I found that I had downloaded the information on this about 12-18 months ago and the price has since gone up by about $200 to $250. I couldn't help but wonder how much of that was labor costs going up or the price of raw material going up because of the tariffs.
