In the little Blazers I've swapped for a 327 and for the tranny 700R4. Best combo I've seen for a little Blazer in a while. Lots of tweaking, things to remember is to try not doing it to your daily.

I recall reading somewhere on either this forum, GMtruckforum or s10forum the the 4L80E tranny would be best with the V8.

 

Because if you happen to mess it up during the swap then you're S-O-L for a DD.

 

Exactly! If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!! A DD is not your experimental rig, lots of things can go wrong.

 

I understand what you're saying, but I think you guys are over stressing. Once it's done and the initial bugs worked out, I'd daily drive a V8 Blazer in a heartbeat.

After all, how many problems are our stock Blazers prone to?

 

oh well mine hopefully wont be a DD for much longer.
