Would you make this trade?
I am repaying a 1200 dollar loan right now, so I don't have any money with which to even buy a junkyard trans with, even if I could install it myself. I haven't authorized the shop to rebuild the trans again either for the reason I listed above.
I love the ZR2, but this is a financial move really. Its either keep the ZR2 and let it rot for a few months until I have the cash for the trans... or trade for a truck that runs.

Well, nothing is ever easy it seems. Now a friend of mine (the one who suggested we go offroading in the first place) wants to loan me the money to re-rebuild my trans. I'd normally jump on this... but he has a wife and kid, plus another kid on the way so he needs all the money he can get. Granted, he's doing well for himself so it won't really hurt him to loan me that cash, plus I'd pay it off by the end of the summer an all... but it feels really wrong to do that.
What would you guys do in that situation?

I'm pretty good friends with him, known him since freshman year of highschool which was back in 96.
I should also mention I'm already in the midst of paying my roommate back the 1200 to have my trans done in the first place, which is why I couldn't pay this friend back until later this summer.

bottom line.... Do you want your blazer? or the other one? He offered the money, which means he has it. nobody would offer something that will put them in a bad situation. Personally. Id keep my zr2 if i had one. I like new blazers.
