Correct, but their are skid plates under the front of the engine (which all blazers have but ZR2 Blazers have aluminum ones opposed to plastic up to 98 then carbon fiber 99and up) and ZR2's have a transmission skid plate (aluminum 98- and carbon fiber 99+).

sorry, but you're wrong on that one Ryan.

my '98 4 door LT has the full 3 skid plates package on it (front, oil, and t-case), and they're naturally aluminum. pretty soon i'm gonna have my trans covered too (God i hate automatic's)

my '92 Jimmy also came with the full 3 skid plate package on it (of course aluminum as well).

and yet my youngest brother's '94 Jimmy doesn't have anything beyond the crapy plastic front skid plate only.

i even had aluminum plates on a '88 i picked up to strip.

try and figure out the way these trucks were equipped, and you'll probably be able to pick the winning #'s for the lottery.

I am going to have to partially agree with Ryan. There were certain packages that put the skid plates on, but as standard, nothing but the plastic air dam. I refuse to call that a skid plate because about the only thing they'll skid along is snow and light mud. Rocks, ice, or thick mud and they'll crack.

That whole optional vs. standard thing...

but Kyle, the way Ryan put it, it came across that he was saying only the ZR's came with the full aluminum 3 skid plate set-up.

and i'd like to see a pic of an actual trans pan skid plate-NOT the one for the t-case, but the one Ryan mentioned. not that i don't believe you Ryan, but if their is one available, it might just be cheaper to buy, than the one i'm designing.
