Default zr2 worth the $$?

It seems these things are bringing alot of money or the owners/dealers are awful proud of them. I love the look but dang they are pricey. Are they worth the coin? I spotted a 98 2 door I don't mind but I want a meaner stance and look. Buy a standard do a body lift and 31s and be done? I also like the tire carrier.

A ZR2 will typically be a little more expensive than a non-Z with equal features, however in my area they're not a ton more. Maybe 10% higher? If you are patient and don't mind doing a little mechanical maintenance work you can often find great deals on Blazers.

My buddy has a non zr2 2 door I can pick up at a good price I just don't like the dinky look. I want the tuffer stance on a budget. Zr2s here especially blazers are slim to non and u find one with 182k for 5 grand. I can get his 2 door for 1500 with 167 k.

Nothing wrong with a 2wd as long as you don't need 4x4. If I lived in SoCal like LeWhite I'd probably drive a lowered 2wd as well. Instead I live in the winter wasteland of central Alberta. We just got 15" of snow dumped on us and I've needed to use the 4x4 almost every day since then, and the extra inches of clearance I have with my lift has been very handy a few times in the deep snow. Either way you go it all depends on your tastes and driving needs.

If you think ZR2s are expensive come to Beverly Hills. Nice gardener's S10 pickup sell for about what you would pay for ZR2. Its nice to have roads without pot holes and salt, so Xtremes are more appreatiated, but sell for way more than ZR2s. So I guess crank the T bars and throw some 33s on mods, depend on the property tax you pay. It's all relative.

Nothing crazy here in iowa jist love the look of a zr2. The owners sure are proud of them tho. I guess I will pick up a plain 2 door 4x4 and small lift and 31s
