3rd brake light replacement

Default 3rd brake light replacement

So how do I get to the end of the cord connecting to the 3rd brake light...its buried in the headliner kinda...

If there is a rubber grommet that the wire goes into, remove the grommet to get to the connector.

this may sound dumb but how do i get the gromment off...it goes into the headliner or someting.

this may sound dumb but how do i get the gromment off...it goes into the headliner or someting.
You can either squeeze/pinch it with your fingers or use a pair of pliers, but be careful using pliers not to cut/tear the grommet when pulling it out of the hole it is in. There should be plenty of room for this, grommets are just there to keep the hole from chaffing the plastic sheathing of the wire, thus preventing a short circuit in the system...try not to pinch to hard or pull hard on the wires if the plug catches on the hole.

Hey so i got the grommet off...but now the cord thing wont pull out to expose the little end on it...i dont wanna pull to hard because im afraid itll come disconnected and then i wont be able to get any lights back there...because there apparently is no other way to get up in there. Any advice?

Can you get a little flashlight in there to see the connector? It might just need a little jiggling or some guiding with a long skinny screwdriver.

ill look...but i really dont think so...i cold tell by sticking my finger in it that it was pretty close to being up against the back wall thing.
