96 Blazer 4x4 Auto Tranny Interchange
 

Hi All

My wife's brother gave me (yes, GAVE me) his 96 Blazer 4x4 :D. Has AT, 125K on the clock, runs very well, looks great - and no second gear :(- reverse, 1, 3 and OD seem fine. Heck he drove it to my house, 3 hours on the interstate. So now I've got a project.

What's the interchange on the tranny, what other years/platforms will swap? I'm looking at a variety of options right now - DIY with a boneyard pick or a reman, attempting a rebuild myself, full blown shop replace, etc. I have other vehicles so it's not a 5 alarm fire to get it going right now.

Your sun shell is gone and I'm betting that you really don't have 4th gear either.

Tim (Hanr3) wrote up a post on his adventure into the belly of the beast. He rebuilt his transmission in his garage for his 2k and most if not all should apply.

Anyone have input on the interchange? Swap with other years/models??
