Hi All

My wife's brother gave me (yes, GAVE me) his 96 Blazer 4x4 . Has AT, 125K on the clock, runs very well, looks great - and no second gear - reverse, 1, 3 and OD seem fine. Heck he drove it to my house, 3 hours on the interstate. So now I've got a project.

What's the interchange on the tranny, what other years/platforms will swap? I'm looking at a variety of options right now - DIY with a boneyard pick or a reman, attempting a rebuild myself, full blown shop replace, etc. I have other vehicles so it's not a 5 alarm fire to get it going right now.

Your sun shell is gone and I'm betting that you really don't have 4th gear either.

Tim (Hanr3) wrote up a post on his adventure into the belly of the beast. He rebuilt his transmission in his garage for his 2k and most if not all should apply.
