Default back up light

I am looking for some help on my 97 2 dr. auto. The back up light comes on in neutral and not reverse. Can I do this? Where and what do I move? Thank You

Welcome to the forum.

Apply your parking brake.
On the left side of the transmission is the neutral switch.
Loosen the bolts so that you can rotate the switch, turn the key to the "on" position, put the shifter in "R" and rotate the switch til the backup lights come on. Tighten the switch and double check.

If you have any trouble, let us know and we'll find you a picture.

The manual trand has a switch SOLELY for the B/U lamps.....it's very common for them to stick open or burn the contacts up. It's a two-wire switch (at least one of them is green)screwed into the side (IIRC the passenger side) of the trans. Replace it and you'll be good-to-go.
