Default celing light

i have a 95 blazer and the middle (main ) ceiling light is really messed up. tonight i got into my car and i realized it was on and it would not turn off. i had to drive with it on. when i got home and turned the car off it stayed on. i didnt want it to stay on the whole night so i knocked it around a bit and then as i took the clear cover off to pop out the lightbulb it just turned off. i think the switch is broken but i dont know where it is. im a n00b with car tech so bear with me. help!

do all the interior lights stay on? by the parentheses around main, are you saying that only the ceiling light is on? do all the other courtesy lights come on when you open a door, but turn off, leaving the ceiling light on? if all interior lights stay on, my blazer had that same problem. it seemed that all the interior lights stayed on even when i killed it, locked it, and walked away. what fixed my problem was replacing the switch that controls the dimness of the gauges (which also controls the on/off of the courtesy lights when it is in the completely up position). it is the one that is like a vertical wheel by the headlight on/off switch. maybe that will help
