Default door stopper

well i bought my car about a few months ago and the door pins needed to be replaced so i went ahead and did so.. and the door stopper was crappy when i bought it so i figured i would try to fix that to now.. but one of the problems is the spring behind the arm which rolls around the pin, is missing and the pin is bent, not broken just bent.. i was woundering if i should heat the bent pin and bend it.. also just go to the junk yard or something and try prying a spring off and mayb takin the arm with it.. idk if theres any other way of reparing that of if the stuff just pops off, i dont know.. its pretty bad caz its like ripping the door off the car caz ppl throw the door open and its detaching from the body.. any1 with any suggestions plz let me know its one more project i need to tackle...

Default RE: door stopper

You definitely could grab a new spring from the junkyard.

I would use heat to bend things back right, but be VERY careful not to heat up the sheetmetal around it as there is plastic and other things on the other side. Wouldn't want to start a fire.

About the only other option you have is to have a body shop cut your old hinge off the truck and reweld in a new or used replacement. You really would just need the upper hinge right...
