haha i hope someone knows what commercial the subject came from........anyway i got rear ended today......i was wondering whats involved in swapping out the rear bumper....its the only part that was damaged(thank god)

Never did it on a newer truck. Although it shouldn't be much more then a few bolts and a wiring harness or two.

Flow,
It is fairly easy to get the rear bumper off the truck. All you need to do is lift off the rubber/plastic on the top of the bumper/roll pan and there are bolts to remove, also check underneath too. I removed mine to install my Class III hitch, came of in less than 10 min....

That looks like it's a fair amount of damage.
The plastic is only a bumper cover. Under that cover is a bumper absorber and a rebar.
I don't know how insurance works in your area, but if it happened to me here in western Canada, I'd go thru insurance.
It looks like about $1000.00 Canadian damage.
