SECONDARY INJECTION SYSTEM
I have just been through the ringer with the local Chevy Dealer over a service engine soon light. I bought my `04 Trailblazer through Enterprise Sales and bought their extended warranty so I could use my own mechanic, but EMRP told me that the diagnosis - Secondary Injection pump - was covered under the GM 50,000 mile emissions warranty and I had to go to a dealer for repairs. After 3 visits and numerous hours lost pay from work the Dealer (Herb Connolly - Framingham, MA) finally fixed the problem which was a secondary injection valve solenoid. Now they are billing me the $100 deductible because GM claims the part is not included in the emissions system. Everything I have seen and read about secondary injection system uses the words "emissions" and "exhaust system" frequently. Can anyone tell me the truth?
The question is mute - Chevrolet claims ALL REPAIRS under warranty must be $100 deductible and performed at a Chevrolet Dealer. That is why I opted for an Enterprise extended warranty - EMRP - so that my mechanic can perform all repairs and do them right the first time - not 3 visits and an arrogant, sarcastic service manager. If you live in Massachusetts steer clear of Connolly Chevrolet in Framingham.
