Shelf Life. . .

Shelf Life. . .
My blazer was a regularly serviced lease vehicle before I bought it (i have the dealership service records in the glove box). I now have 79,000 miles on it, but everything still runs excellent. I never miss a service interval and keep the truck spotless inside and out. How long will these trucks last? This is my first blazer actually this is my first chevrolet. I guess what i'm wondering is, will it bite the dust anytime soon? will it be a waste of money to lift it and buy new rims and tires? I just dont wanna get screwed, so are these good trucks, with long lives?

i will be buying my first blazer in a few weeks and i did a bunch of research on them. From what i have read, both on this forum and other sources, if they get the regular maintence then they last forever. The fuel pump and ball joints are really common problems, but all and all it should last for ever. There is a miles thread on here somewhere and if i remember correctly someone cleared 300k on the odometer. If you do decide to lift it, that will put more strain on the suspension components and they will wear faster. But if that is a route you choose to go, there is a ton of info on here to help with that. Hope that helps.

It's all about the maintenance. A machine will last as long as its owner looks after it. Being that you are religious about taking your vehicle in for service and keeping after things, you can probably figure on having around for many years.
