Default Should the 2WD indicator light be on?

Should the 2WD indicator light be on when running in 2 wheel drive? Not Sure, but seems like it should be on when it is in 2 Wheel drive.

It's easy to replace ?

Do tell.

My 4WD HI and 4WD LO lights both flash and stay on, but the 2WD light is dead. I didn't see an easy way to get at, but I only gave it a once over.

there are two ways to get the switch out, one is to remove two screws above steering wheel in the dash, and then you can pull off that hole section. , or you can just pry out the whole switch assembly pretty easy. disconnect the wiring harness as the back, and then pull the switch all the way out. then there is just a little clip holding the board in.

I considered that, but I worried that something might snap off that is retaining it from the backside. So just to confirm, there's nothing holding it in and the whole assembly can come straight out the front ?
