Default thermostat question on 1998

i feel dumb for asking this, can some one please tell me where the thermostat is on my 1998 blazer vortec 4300 v6 engine , also is there any special tools to change it? thanks glen

Welcome to the forum.
The only dumb question is the one you don't ask.
The thermostat is in the housing at the engine side of your upper radiator hose.
I can't remember if the bolts are 13mm or 15mm. Remove the bolts, lift off the housing and pull out the thermostat. Make sure the surfaces are clean, put in the new thermostat, bolt on the housing and fill the radiator. Run the engine til the coolant level drops, top up the level and put the rad cap back on. top up the overflow tank.
