Default Weird stall

Hi guys,
Well, the brakes and the upper control arm are fixed, but I have noticed a problem that I need to figure out what it is.

If I take a quick drive, say like 5 minutes and turn off my car, I cannot restart my car for at least five minutes, sometimes as much as 30 minutes if I keep fiddling with it. I don't really notice it because most of time I am going in for long periods of time, but if I run to the store, or if I am getting gas, and I have not driven the car that day or for awhile, then it will stall.
Sunday, I drove it for a long period of time and I turn it off then back on, and it was fine. It only seems to stall on short trips. It has seemed to do it alot more this summer, which has been over 100 degrees most days (live in Oklahome).

What could be causing this? Is it the battery? I do not know how old it is, and it does not really say. I think my mechanic said it looked liked the original, but that can't be since this is 13 year old SUV.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

what's happening? do you get in it and it doesn't do any thing when you turn the key? Like it goes through everything like normal until you turn the key to start it. and no noise or anything happens? Is that what it does?
