P0706 Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
i couldnt find the exact term for what p1345 is but i found another forum talkin bout it they said that A P1345 can be caused by a few things:
1: Someone attempting to change timing by turning distributor- doesn't work on 96 and newer
2: Intake manifold gaskets replaced and distributor not replaced correctly
3: Distributor gear wear or timing chain problems

P1345 - Camshaft To Crankshaft Position Correlation Fault

CKP (Crankshaft Position Sensor - Check for 800 - 1200ohms impedance for good sensor using good DVM) $120.00 list GM Parts counter
- Check bad ground
If not CKP, have you done anything recently to disturb the distributor?
Check bad teeth on the dist

ECM will adjust for up to one tooth off of distributor by advancing or retarding timing accordingly... Else it'll knock like a stubborn mule :-D

I'm currently teching through my P1345 code at the moment. Got too dark, going to adjust distributor tomorrow, will post results.

So, I adjusted the distributor today, it was dead on by measuiring TDC of cyl 1 on its compression stroke. I did notice however that the cap and rotor were TOASTED! Replaced them, killed the code with the scanner and the code hasn't come back on yet. I'm off to do the 50 mile test now. If I don't post, well, I didn't make it back to respond and I'm kicking my tires while I put the old cap/rotor back on on the side of the freeway :-D

Brian

P.S. I know that more than likely I'm talking to myself but one day this may help someone from pulling his hair out like I did myself.

It is possible that you have a problem with your CMP or CKP. The CMP (camshaft position sensor) is located in the distributor under the rotor and is replaceable with no other considerations. The CKP (crankshaft position sensor) is located in the timing cover, behind the harmonic balancer, and pointing down and towards the passenger side. The CKP cannot be replaced without doing a case learn, which will correct for the small discrepencies in the CKP reading throughout the rpm range.

I would think that a malfunctioning CKP or CMP would cause other codes as well.

A malfunctioning CKP could cause the additional wear on the cap/rotor due to highly advanced or retarded timing forcing the spark to jump further and foul the contacts faster.

If your new cap/rotor go bad quickly, you'll have to look into replacing either the CMP or CKP, but to know which one, you really need to have the vehicle scanned while looking at the sensor data.

What symptoms were you experiencing when these codes came up? Did the truck run right?
