Default 01 blazer Custom exhaust Help

Hi guys so i did a bunch of reading and searching on here and thought i would just ask my question and get the proper answer...
Ok so i have a 2001 blazer 2dr and i had the stock muffler removed and a FM40 installed now am i able to remove the factory custom bent pipe and install a straight pipe from my new muffler out the back?
i was thinking of even putting a Y pipe after the muffler then running pipe to the back will that be fine and i wont lose no power because that custom bent pipe will bot be there no more?
I dont under stand the whole back pressure thing..
Everything is stock from the engine to the muffler..
please help and thanks

You can do what you like at the back. You won't loose anything back there.

Yea going to a different shop for this stuff to be done lol...
factory pipe is 2 1/4 correct?
So would 2 1/2 be a good size with the y pipe and just stick with the 3inch outlet muffler
