Default Aftermarket Headers for 98 Blazer

Ok, so i know that JBA makes shorty headers for the 4.3 motor, but will they fit my motor, and are they the best? Any other recommendations?

I have a question, its off topic, but does your hypertech thermostat, jet tbs help out? notice any difference? and whats the air intake chip?

Well thermostat has helped it run a few degrees cooler, which is nice when you open the hood right after you've been driving around. The TBS i do notice some difference when accelerating and passing, basically when you stomp on it you can hear the air being sucked in the motor which sounds pretty cool, and if you listen close enough it sounds like you have a little turbo under there. lol The intake chip is wired to your IAT sensor and it has a dial on it that you can adjust your air intake ratio for more power or better mpg. To be honest, idk if it really works all that well or not, i got it for free from my buddy that bought it for his truck but ended up selling it before he ever put it on there, so i threw it on there just for the fact that it was free. lol

alright thanks man! Ive also been wondering about headers. JBA is one of the few brands that makes quality headers for our s10 blazers. Heddman and pacesetters make them too. If you have the money, id go with Jba.

Ok thanks! yeah i had been looking at hooker headers, but of course all they make them for are the small and big block v8's. But yeah i'll def be getting a pair of the JBA's when i get some extra cash, and more importantly, the time to put them on!!
Btw man, i love your sidemarker lights. Where did you get those at?

I've read that shorty headers don't make a huge difference in power so it's not really worth the cost. They make a difference on older small block 350's but not LS motors. Since the 4.3 is a 350 i'd think it would help a lot but maybe they improved the manifolds in the late 90's, not sure.

Actually, the 4.3 is a 262 cu. in. motor

Yeah the 4.3 is a 350 without the 3rd and 6th cylinder, check this out: http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/e...ild/index.html

The shortys are all we have for headers, so we cabt really be picky. But my side markers man, I actually sanded down my entire grill, and used some krylon fusion flat black.
