Exclamation Cold air intake help!

I've been looking around and im thinking about buying a cold air intake for my 02 blazer. I just don't want to spend the big prices for a K&N or a Spectre. Would a cheap one on Ebay do the job just as good as a name brand one?

i bought mine off ebay for cheap...i think it was from chrome air intakes
i like it for what i payed...works well and no issues.
just going to have to build yourself a heat shield for around it to block engine bay heat.

I appreciate all the help guys! I think what i'm going to do is find the cheapest one on Ebay and replace the filter with a K&N. Any suggestions on how to build the heat shield?

Sheet metal, just so's it keep out air from under the hood. Why hasnt anyone put a Lexan(tm) top on the box? {Plexiglas(tm) shatters too easy} so you can still see and hear it.

Can't help ya with the heat shield, but you should look into an AEM dryflow filter instead. The oil in the k and n messes up the maf. Unless you don't mind cleaning the maf every time you re oil the filter
